Media Center Policies & Procedures

Check Out

Students in grades CD - 5 are encouraged to check out books during our Media Center hours.

  • CD & Kindergarten students may check out 1 book for 2 weeks.

  • 1st - 5th grade students may check out 2 books for 2 weeks.

Overdue Materials & Fines

After the allotted time for check out, materials will be considered overdue. There is no daily fine for these materials, however, if materials are more than 2 months overdue, the cost of the resource will be applied as a fine. Once students have a fine, they will not be able to check out any more new materials until that fine is paid.

Students who lose or damage materials will be charged for the cost of the resource.

Access to Media Center

Students are encouraged to visit the Media Center during our hours, either individually, in small groups, or in classes. All CD-2 classes have a scheduled time each week for read alouds and check out, however, students that need to replenish their book supply may come in at any time on their own, per individual classroom procedures.
